Film & video programme „Measurements of time“

The video records the advent of a performance/situation closely related to the ground rules of photography and its chronological determination through evocation of time passing. In the beginning there is a Polaroid paper that is shown being handled in the commencement of its chemical process. The paper is then stuck to a wall where a fixed camera records the moments of image unveiling and directs the viewer's gaze through a time of defeat because of the painting academic suggestion: a Still-Life Painting. The duration of the video is the 5 minutes required by Polaroid to the image be completely developed.
Born in Lisbon, in 1979. Currently lives and works between Lisbon and London. She studied Fine Art (Licentiate degree) at Faculdade de Belas-Artes de Lisboa, Lisbon and the MA at Chelsea College of Art and Design, London. Previous shows include: “Misuse” (solo show at Galeria Sete, Coimbra, PT, 2008), “Circa Art Magazine_Culture Night 08” ((curated by Lee Welch) Temple Bar Gallery & Studios, Dublin, Ireland, 2008), “Videoholica 08” (Cittadellarte of Michelangelo Pistoletto Foundation, Biella, Italy, 2008), “In Reality & Fiction” (CHPL Espaço Polivalente, Lisbon, PT, 2008), “MA Show” (Chelsea College of Art & Design, London, UK, 2007).
