Jonas Nilsson (Sweden) Self-muser, 1:36
Film & video programme „Internal investigations“
16/09/2010, Thursday, 17:00 - 18:00, Studio 7, Art Academy
I've been far too used to an easy life. Instead of having to earn it, I have just been given everything and it's almost paralysing. The world is my playground. I do what, when I want, how I want to do it. I have been trying to see what sets apart my amazing interactions from my mediocre ones. I looked at all of them. All the crazy blowouts. All the crazy nights. For all of them that I really feel good about there is one common theme, self amusement.
An artist who works with contemporary art there moving image is my major way of expression. Nilsson was born 1964 in Sweden there he went to a couple of art schools before he took his Master of Fine Art degree in the year 2000 at Norwich School of Art & Design, UK. His works have mainly been shown at video screenings and festivals through Europe and North America. He is the founder and project manager of Art Video Screening, which is an international annual event and platform focusing on video art. Art Video Screening is the initiator and head co-ordinator for Örebro International Videoart Festival.
