Film & video programme „Performance“
15/09/2010, Wednesday, 17:00 - 18:00, Studio 7, Art Academy
This work uses Candomble (AfricanāBrazilian religion) as inspiration. Its rituals involve the possession of the initiated by Orishas (gods). Music and dance are essential to induce the trance that allows the god to enter the possessed body. Taking off the religious context, the video explores the idea that music and dance can enter the body and manipulate the soul. Commissioned by Itau Cultural Institute.
