Rorschach #1 - mirrored analysis
13-17.09.2010, 11:00-20:00, Akademia Gallery
Rorschach #1 is a generative installation (*2010) based on the Rorschach test created by Swiss psychologist Hermann Rorschach in 1921. It is an experiment in creating a continuously changing, personalized feedback loop between its own internal state and the emotional internals of the beholder.
Presented with an evolving generative painting based on the original inkblot patterns used in the psychoanalytic test procedure, the subject's reaction is analysed using computer vision techniques and common interpretations of responses to the test's stimulus. The stimulus is then adapted according to these results, thus endlessly trying to change, and at the same time changed by, the subject's expression.
