DA FEST 2010 is starting
2010-09-10For a second year, the National Academy of Art has organized an event for artists in the field of digital arts from all over the world. The programme of the DA Fest 2010 comprises a lot of performances, exhibitions, presentations and workshops, which can be seen from 13th to 17th September at the Academy at 1, Shipka Street.
Everyone is free to join in the evening programme or to visit the curatorial exhibition during the day. In the afternoon films and video screenings will be shown, including works selected after a competition of more than 400 submitted works.
The official Opening Ceremony will be held on 13th September at 8.00 P.M. in “Academia” Gallery, where the hosts will be welcoming all the guests and will give the start to the festival with the performance of "Le Code" by Yoann Trellu, a multidisciplinary artist working actively in the field of visual arts, dance and video productions.
During the DA Fest 2010 the audience will have the opportunity to meet some of the world's famous artists in the digital art. Among them are: the media artist Brian Knep, who makes use of science and technology to explore various phenomena in the modern society, and Mark Coniglio who creates large-scale performances, combining music, dance, theatre and interactive media. More than 30 artists will be demonstrating new trends, digital experiments, sound and visual performances, interactive installations and many other inter-disciplinary forms.
The first edition of the Festival was held in October 2009 with the participation of 33 artists, media activists and academics from nine countries (Bulgaria, UK, Germany, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Croatia, USA and Japan). For five days the fascinating programme of the festival made the National Academy of Art one of the most interesting places in Sofia in the last week of October.
