me – emoticons!
interactive installation, 2010
13-17.09.2010, 11:00-20:00, Studio 53, Art Academy
me – emoticons! is an installation, where the viewer operates a remote control with emoticon buttons. Around the viewer, there are several white boxes. When the viewer pushes one of the emoticon button, a box is illuminated, which represents the actual emotion of the author. The boxes are like a library of the viewer’s own emotion, a way to “animate” the simplified, standard “emotions”, by which we express ourselves online. The author’s idea is to show the relation between reaction and emotion, real and personal, and to replace the well-established emoticons we use when communicating online.
